The Aster Horses breeding programme...
We are very well known for professional breeding programme. We research the very best bloodlines to bring horses bred to a contemporary stamp. Our onsite facilities and experienced, fully trained staff are there at every start of our broodmares journey, from conception to foaling and weaning.
We breed on average three to five foals per year at Aster, all named with the 'Aster' prefix. Some of our youngstock are sold, and some are kept to train on.
Our aim is to develop a string of horses to train up the levels, while also seeing our Aster horses flourish in new homes across the globe. We are very passionate about our breeding and love to see our youngstock going to competition homes, with both professional and amateur riders. To view our current horses for sale click HERE

In addition to our own breeding programme we own we also take mares for foaling and offer weaning and youngstock livery services. Most young horses live with us until the backing stage, where we begin their careers under saddle. With years of experience in handling, backing and competing young horses we can offer a full service and can support you in the best way possible, with the horse's wellbeing at the centre of everything we do at Aster. Our dedicated Vet who deals with all Artificial Insemination is Rueben Whittaker MRCVS BVSc Cert AVP (ESO) Advanced Practitioner in Equine Surgery, Orthopaedics.
Reuben leads up the practice RW Equine Vets, who we also use as our main equine practice.
Nicknamed James Herriot – (seeing he is a Yorkshireman), Reuben is here most days during the breeding season to enable all running smoothly with the breeding side of Aster Horses. If you require more information about our AI services do get in touch.
