Training at Aster – something for everyone!
Whether you are just starting out or riding at the highest levels, we offer something for everyone at Aster ​Horses. From individual coaching sessions to multi lesson packages and short stays. Our breadth of experience means we can offer straight dressage coaching, polework or flatwork for jumpers. Everyone is catered for. The Dressage coaching at Aster is headed by Daniel Watson. Daniel is well known on the National and International scene, having ridden in many championships and on British Teams at internationally regarded competitions such as Aachen, Compiegne and Rotterdam. He has also competed individually for Team GB in Sydney Australia. Daniel's usual day at home combines riding all the horses as well as coaching visiting clients. Daniel is now a UKCC3 qualified Dressage coach and is training towards his List 2 Dressage Judge's qualification. If there is something specific you wish to develop with your horse, then please get in touch and we can work together to make a coaching plan. Coaching at Aster is supported by Daniel’s partner, Craig Messenger. Craig has worked across the gamut of equine sport, including racing, polo, eventing as well as his chosen discipline, dressage. His wealth of experience lends itself well to riders wishing to fine tune their dressage for eventing or possibly retraining a RoR horse as well as those riding 'pure' dressage.
Craig’s immensely popular polework clinics offer something different to riders wanting to some fun and conditioning exercise for their horses - keep an eye out on our social media feeds for details or sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when these events are scheduled!
Craig is well known for his engaging and supportive coaching and has seen many of his clients succeed at national championships, regional & county teams, Quest and Petplan Championships. He has also coached many riders and 'non-typical' dressage horses , all competing with great success under his watchful and encouraging eye.

TRAIN & STAY
We have limited availability for clients to stay and train with us for a few days, a weekend or longer. These intensive sessions are the ideal way to focus on your development goals, whatever your level - Prelim to Grand Prix. Accommodation can be in your own lorry on site, in the main house or in a recommended local B&B. Stabling can be provided and each client receives a bespoke package, based on their requirements.
